Within Programs and Features, click on Turn Windows features on or off which is found on the left hand panel. A message will pop up that will ask for confirmation that you want to continue. Click Yes.
Back in the features window, click OK. Another window will pop up, showing the progress of the changes you just made, then another that will require you to restart your system. What I hope to do is removing all that indexed files that search results still show from locations I no more want to be indexed, I tought that the index rebuild function and the database delete would do exactly this job, purging old voices, but seems not, previously indexed files, the ones that were in a certain location before removing it from index, are shown.
Tryed setting only Start Menu for indexing and do all things in I did in first and second point and I see I have only indexed elments, that is the number of elements actually inside Start Menu folder, but when typing still finding again old elements.
How can I completely delete this history, let also say revert back to an out of the box situation? One screen shot would help to better understand the issue "elements showed by windows search when typing words from start menu". I found an article which may have a typo in it for my system anyway so I included a screenshot showing what worked for me depending on the nature of the issue. There is a separate section in the linked article for Windows 7 so be sure you find that and I always make a manual system restore point before editing the registry so I can undo any adjustments in case things get worse or something goes wrong:.

I would like to delete all the elements that search box still propose me and are no more flagged as indexed.
